Calvary E.M.C. Children's Ministries

Working together to raise up the next generation to be strong and courageous followers of Jesus Christ

   Children’s  Ministries

Calvary counts it a great privilege to minister to children, and we are dedicated to protecting them. All of our Children’s Ministry volunteers have been screened under our Protection Plan to ensure that Calvary is a safe place for your child(ren) to learn Biblical values and principles, and develop friendships.

November 22, 2020

Starting on Sunday Nov. 29, 2020, from 10:30-11:30, Calvary EMC invites children to attend “KIDS CHURCH” – Advent Adventure, in the lower open area. We will meet for the four Sundays of Advent and then
re-evaluate for the new year.
Please let us know if you think you and your child(ren) or any children you know will plan to attend by registering with the church every week at
519-376-4179 or visit our website at www.calvaryemc.com. We want to be prepared for each and every one.

Hello wonderful Calvary families and friends,
What a crazy year this has been. We are very happy that we are able to be meeting in person at the church but are sad that not everyone is able to join. Our ‘family’ seems separated in physical terms but still ‘family’ in spirit. We appreciate each and every one of you.
We have been talking about ways to re engage our kids and desire to have in person connection with them. In talking with some of the elders and board members, we have been given permission to use the downstairs open area to provide a “KIDS CHURCH”. We are very excited to give this a try. Please come and join us with your kids or grandkids for a fun Advent Adventure.
Before you enter the church, ensure your mask is on, and then use hand sanitizer located by the stairs after you enter the back door. Bring your child(ren)- downstairs and sign in at the table just inside the open room door. Your child will then be escorted to a chair with a hula hoop in front. This designates their personal space. Your child must remain in this personal space (chair or hoop) during the entire hour and until you come to pick them up. At the conclusion of the service, please come immediately downstairs and we will release your child(ren) to you. You are then asked to exit the building and are welcome to socialize outside.
Follow the arrows on the stairs.
Please note that if you are experiencing any of the following symptoms do not enter the church:
Chills Difficulty swallowing
Fatigue Hoarse voice
Headache
Digestive issues, nausea, vomiting,
Sore throat
Stomach pain or diarrhea
Runny nose
Lost sense of taste or smell
Stuffy or congested nose
For children or infants:
Sluggishness or loss of appetite

 What will we be doing?
We plan to spend the first half hour doing an Advent activity. We will do a bit of teaching about the Advent week and hope to do a craft. We will package a craft for each individual. Following this, we plan to watch an online kid’s church program.
Check out this website for the one we hope to use. https://www.life.church/kids/media/. Life Church has done an amazing job of creating an engaging program for their kids at home and we think it would be fun to do that together.
What do you need to do?
Register, as stated above.
Prepare your child for the new structure and ensure that they understand that they will need to remain in their seat the entire time with a mask on. If you feel that your child will have difficulty, you are welcome to stay and sit next to them.
Pray for us as we make plans and move ahead with God in new ways.
Thanks for being part of our family. We look forward to lovin’ on your kids.
Blessings,
Susan and Roxy
