Dear Brothers and Sisters at Calvary,

As you are aware, all public gatherings including our Sunday Services here at Calvary have been temporarily suspended until further notice. We are continuing to monitor the changing conditions related to COVID-19 in our city, province and throughout the world.

We encourage you to continue to care for one another, your neighbours and friends in need. Pick up the phone and see if our elderly and those with health issues are ok or if they need anything.

If you are in need, or know of someone who is, please email info@calvaryemc.com or call the church office 519-376-4179 and leave a message.

Pam will be monitoring the email and phone messages and will have someone respond as soon as possible to your requests/concerns/questions.

We have had folks inquiring about their tithes and offerings during this time. On your computer, to the right you’ll see  a link to Canada Helps (on other devices, scroll to the bottom of this page). It is an online service for our congregants to contribute their offerings. Calvary has been using this service for quite a while now. It is very secure and easy to use.

Trust God…He is in control.

In the midst of uncertainty, we trust God. He is sovereign over human history and over our lives. He is the Lord, “our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble” (Psalm 46:1). And he is loving and merciful. Psalm 100:5 assures us, “For the LORD is good; his steadfast love endures forever, and his faithfulness to all generations.”

Our faith in God and his providential care helps us to resist panic, knowing that our times are in the Lord’s hand (Psalm 31:15). No one can snatch us out of the Father’s hand (John 10:28-29). And so, “for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose” (Romans 8:28).

Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. (Philippians 4:6-7)

For God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control. (2 Tim. 1:7)

 Welcome to Calvary Church!

We hope you’ll take some time to look around and get to know us!

Join us Sundays at 10:30 a.m. when people of all ages and from all walks of life gather to worship the Lord, receive practical instruction from the Word of God, and experience authentic Christian community. Calvary honours the Father, lifts up the Lord Jesus, and is sensitive to the Holy Spirit. We are dedicated to sharing the good news of Jesus Christ in both word and deed, and seek sincerely to love people the way Jesus does.

Our Sunday morning Celebration Service begins with a time of Praise & Worship, with contemporary Christian songs and often one of the old familiar hymns, then pastoral prayer, followed by a Bible-based message.  A time of personal ministry and prayer at the altar follows the Service. Communion is celebrated on the first Sunday each month, during the regular Celebration Service.

Nursery Care is provided throughout the Service, and children ages 3 to 12 are dismissed during Praise & Worship to take part in Sunday School.

Be sure to stay after Church and get to know people at the Calvary Cafe which takes place in our Family Life Centre (“the gym”). Complimentary refreshments are served and everyone is welcome. Get connected and enjoy real fellowship.

You’ll find there is lots going on at Calvary Church, so be sure to read your Sunday Bulletin to keep informed.  Recent Sunday bulletins are also available through the link above.
